King of Babylon takes place on a 5×3 grid, and you’ll have the chance to match two or more symbols in twenty different paylines. Symbols in the game range from the typical card royals from J-A to some more interesting designs including lions, daggers and mythical beasts. There’s also the Ishtar gate, part of the ancient city, as the most valuable symbol in the game.
As well as standard paying symbols, King of Babylon features some exciting bonus symbols to keep things interesting. First off, you have wilds. These come in three different forms, standard wilds which simply substitute for other symbols, expanding wilds which take up the whole reel and Golden wilds.
Normal wilds have a chance to randomly turn into Golden wilds, and if these form a winning combination, they trigger the Action Spins mode. During this King of Babylon bonus round, you’ll spin a wheel and can win prizes ranging from increased cash to free spins.
Lastly, the game also features dice symbols which can unlock the Babylon King free spins. Collecting six or more dice symbols mean you’ll receive at least six free spins, but you’ll earn more for each dice you land. During the free spins, the only wilds are Golden wilds which adds to the Action Spins pot. At the end of the free spins bonus, your win can potentially increase further thanks to the Action Spins round.

King of Babylon is certainly a welcome change from the usually historical slots we see. Most of the genre seem to be fixated on ancient Egyptian or Greek eras, so it’s nice to see a little change in direction. The game itself is certainly a lot of fun to play with some interesting gameplay mechanics. We enjoyed the bonus features, and the wins came frequently enough to keep us engaged for a long time.
